Hosting Cardinal Okpaleke and clergy from Nigeria

Archbishop Weisenburger hosted Cardinal Peter Ebere Okpaleke, the bishop of Ekwulobia, Nigeria, on a visit to Detroit, where the diocese has priests serving in southeast Michigan. Nigerian clergy suffer from tremendous violence against Christians in their home country. Father Lawrence, second from left, chancellor of the diocese, was shot in the foot when his parish was assaulted by militants, and he traveled to Detroit to seek medical care.
