On Friday, Sept. 25, Archbishop Weisenburger attended Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan's Annual Celebration gala at Saint John's Resort in Plymouth. This year's fundraiser recognized the contributions of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, St. Paul on the Lake Parish in Grosse Pointe Farms, and Msgr. Chuck Kosanke, the founding chairman of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan. In addition to the silent auction, which raised money for Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan's general fund, the evening raised $125,000 for The Residences of St. Matthew housing program at St. Matthew Parish in Detroit.

On Thursday, Sept. 24, Archbishop Weisenburger joined coworkers at the Archdiocese of Detroit's Chancery to say farewell to a longtime colleague: Lory McGlinnen, who is retiring from her role as director of parish care after 32 years of service to the archdiocese. The archbishop led curia coworkers in expressing gratitude for McGlinnen's faithfulness and service, leading a prayer before a reception honoring her retirement.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Archbishop Weisenburger attended the 36th Annual Detroit Catholic Pastoral Alliance Harvest Dinner at Shed 3 in Eastern Market. The annual event recognized the achievements of Nehemiah Thomas, Sonya Townsend and Fr. David Preuss, OFM Cap., in their years of service to Detroit's urban Catholic community. The event featured a silent auction and 50/50 raffle to raise money for the DCPA's affordable housing and community development, anti-racism, youth programs, senior networking and urban parish coalition activities. The Detroit Catholic Pastoral Alliance is a multifaceted faith-based community development organization, comprised of 13 parishes in the city of Detroit.

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, Archbishop Weisenburger caught a baseball game at Comerica Park, watching the Detroit Tigers play the Washington Nationals on a cool fall evening. Joining the archbishop for the game were Fr. Timothy Birney, moderator of the curia for the Archdiocese of Detroit, Fr. Kevin Creagh, CM, rector and president of Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and Fr. Adam Nowak, the archbishop's priest-secretary and vice chancellor for the archdiocese. Although the Tigers lost, 3-1, a great time was had by all!

On Sunday, Sept. 20, Archbishop Weisenburger celebrated the 100th anniversary Mass at St. Louis Parish in Clinton Township. Founded in 1926, the parish has served generations of Catholics in Macomb County and the surrounding communities, providing the sacraments and a place of community for thousands. After Mass, a new pathway for the parish's outdoor Stations of the Cross was blessed, and the community gathered for a celebratory reception.
