Four men to be ordained permanent deacons this fall

DETROIT — Four men who have completed studies and formation at Sacred Heart Major Seminary will be ordained permanent deacons for the Archdiocese of Detroit this fall, according to the archdiocese’s Office of Clergy and Consecrated Life.

The four men, who range in age from 40 to 58, each have wives and children and are completing internships in parishes of the Archdiocese of Detroit. They are:

Richard John Rhein, 47, of Immaculate Conception Parish in Ira Township. Rhein, who lives in Fair Haven with his wife, Anna, has two sons (Brandon and Jacob) and a daughter (Rachel) and a career as a police officer.

Kenneth (Perry) Clark, 58, of St. Patrick Parish in White Lake. Clark, who lives in Commerce Township with his wife, Mary Elizabeth, has three children (Chrysten Leigh, Aaron James and Dean Austin) and works in software sales for Hewlett-Packard Enterprises.

Aleksander Mirashi Stanaj, 40, of St. Paul Albanian Parish in Rochester. Stanaj was born in Tirana in the formerly communist country of Albania and began attending religion classes after the fall of communism in 1990. He became involved in missionary work with the Jesuits and Missionaries of Charity for nine years before emigrating to the United States in 2000. Stanaj, of Oakland Township, is married to Hana and has four children (Sebastian, Christopher, Veronika and Henry) and works as a master electrician and electrical contractor.

James Michael Nicola, 51, of St. Valentine Parish in Redford Township. Nicola, of Redford Township, is married to Elizabeth Ann and has three children (Kirk, Angela and James). He works as a builder in the remodeling business.
