‘Detroit Catholic en Español’ celebrates, serves our Hispanic brothers and sisters

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Just over a year ago, our archdiocese reimagined our news publishing efforts to better serve the needs of the faithful. Since then, Detroit Catholic has published award-winning, inspiring stories of the life and mission of our parishes, schools and ministries. Its daily coverage allows all of us — clergy, lay faithful and the people of southeast Michigan — to see the Holy Spirit working in our midst as we continue our shared mission to unleash the Gospel.

I’m happy to announce that we will further expand our news publishing efforts with the new Detroit Catholic en Español, launching on March 5, 2020. This new section of Detroit Catholic, along with a weekly email newsletter, will provide a combination of original stories written in Spanish as well as translated content from our Detroit Catholic archdiocesan coverage.

Detroit Catholic en Español is one way we seek to respond to our call to celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our local Church, and to serve better our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters.

It is my ardent prayer that this new communications effort will inspire and form readers as they continue to live out our calling to be transformed into joyful missionary disciples.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

The Most Reverend Allen H. Vigneron
Archbishop of Detroit
