Archbishop Gabriele G. Caccia (second from left), apostolic nuncio to the United States, is joined by Detroit Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger and Capuchin Bros. Rob Roemer and Benoy Augustine during a tour of the Solanus Casey Center on Sept. 16. Archbishop Caccia, who was appointed nuncio by Pope Leo XIV in March, is visiting Detroit as he gets to know the dioceses and Catholic communities across the United States.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16, Archbishop Weisenburger welcomed Archbishop Gabriele G. Caccia, apostolic nuncio to the United States, for a brief visit to Detroit, including a tour of the Blessed Solanus Casey Center and Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Archbishop Caccia, who was appointed as U.S. nuncio by Pope Leo XIV in March, visited the tomb of Blessed Solanus Casey and spoke with local Catholic leaders and seminarians during his tour. The nuncio — who serves as the pope's ambassador to the churches in the United States — also received a blessing with a relic of the True Cross during his visit to the Solanus Casey Center.
