Archbishop dedicates monument to abortion victims

Detroit — A granite monument now marks the site where the remains of 23 aborted babies found in an abortion clinic trash receptacle were buried back in 2008.

Archbishop Allen Vigneron blessed the marker in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, last Saturday, at a ceremony that drew about 125 people.

The marker was placed by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, which was the organization that, two years ago, arranged for the remains to be given a funeral in St. Gerald Church, Farmington, and Christian burial.

The 23 aborted babies’ remains had been found in early 2008 in the trash behind the WomanCare clinic in Lathrup Village, one of the metro area clinics run by controversial abortionist Dr. Alberto Hodari.

The improper disposal of human remains drew only an admonition from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, which has jurisdiction in such matters.
