DETROIT — Before God, their families and the faithful of the Archdiocese of Detroit, four men answered the call to the permanent diaconate Oct. 3 at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.

Watch the Mass: Ordination of Deacons Krueger, Ostrowski, Potempski and Pryce

At the culmination of years of faithful discernment, study, prayer and formation, Detroit Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger ordained Deacons Kurt Krueger, Jeff Ostrowski, Ron Potempski and Jim Pryce, challenging them to be faithful stewards of the Lord's word in their ministries to come.

The four new deacons, each of whom is married with children, will turn their focus to parish ministry and service as they receive their first assignments.

Deacon Krueger will serve at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Plymouth; Deacon Ostrowski will serve at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Livonia; Deacon Potempski will serve at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Grosse Pointe Woods; and Deacon Pryce will serve at Resurrection Parish in Canton.
