Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger announces the following appointments:
Fr. John Vandenakker, CC, with the concurrence of his superior, Very Reverend Roger Vandenakker, CC, appointed Weekend Priest Support to the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Divine Providence (Lithuanian) Parish, Southfield; Our Lady of La Salette Parish, Berkley; Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Oak Park; and Transfiguration Parish, Southfield, which form the Family Sent on Mission, effective June 5, 2025. Fr. Vandenakker currently serves on the faculty of Sacred Heart Major Seminary and previously served as Weekend Priest Support to the In Solidum team of priests who pastor Our Lady of the Woods Parish, Woodhaven; Sacred Heart Parish, Grosse Ile; St. Cyprian Parish, Riverview; St. Joseph Parish, Trenton; and St. Roch Parish, Flat Rock, which form the Downriver Missionaries for Christ Family of Parishes.
Fr. Timothy Wezner appointed as a full-time Judge for the Metropolitan Tribunal with additional duties as a canonical advisor to the "No Second Tunic" planning process, effective July 1. Fr. Wezner will also continue in his role as Weekend Priest Support to the In Solidum team of priests who pastor St. Mary Parish, Wayne; St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy Parish, Westland; St. Richard Parish, Westland; and St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Garden City, which form the Nankin Family of Parishes. Fr. Wezner currently serves as Episcopal Vicar for Clergy Discipline and Vice-Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
