Fr. Patrick Connell appointed full-time priest support to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Grosse Pointe Woods; St. Basil the Great Parish, Eastpointe; St. Joan of Arc Parish, St. Clair Shores; St. Lucy Parish, St. Clair Shores; and St. Veronica Parish, Eastpointe, which form the Thresholds of Hope Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2025. Fr. Connell currently serves as a member of the in solidum team of priests who pastor Divine Providence (Lithuanian) Parish, Southfield; Our Lady of La Salette Parish, Berkley; Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Oak Park; and Transfiguration Parish, Southfield, which form the Family Sent on Mission.
Fr. Ryszard Czerniak, S.Chr., with the concurrence of his superior, Very Reverend Jacek Walkiewicz, SChr, appointed full-time priest support to Mother of Divine Mercy Parish, Detroit; Our Lady Queen of Apostles Parish, Hamtramck; St. Florian Parish, Hamtramck; St. Hyacinth Parish, Detroit; and St. John Paul II Parish, Detroit, which form the Central Genesis 1 Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2025. Fr. Czerniak currently serves outside the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Fr. Athanasius Fornwalt, FHS, with the concurrence of his bishop, Most Reverend John P. Dolan, appointed moderator and a member of the in solidum team of priests who pastor Christ the King Parish, Detroit; St. Charles Lwanga Parish, Detroit; St. Moses the Black Parish, Detroit; St. Peter Claver Parish, Detroit; and St. Suzanne - Our Lady Gate of Heaven Parish, Detroit, which form the D4 Mission Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2025. This role will be in addition to Fr. Fornwalt's responsibilities as moderator and a member of the in solidum team of priests who pastor Corpus Christi Parish, Detroit; SS. Peter and Paul (Westside) Parish, Detroit; and St. Mary of Redford Parish, Detroit, which form the One in the Spirit Family of Parishes.
Fr. Sama Muma appointed full-time priest support to Christ the King Parish, Detroit; St. Charles Lwanga Parish, Detroit; St. Moses the Black Parish, Detroit; St. Peter Claver Parish, Detroit; and St. Suzanne - Our Lady Gate of Heaven Parish, Detroit, which form the D4 Mission Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2025. Fr. Muma currently serves as parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Mission, Brown City; SS. Peter and Paul Parish, North Branch; and St. Mary Burnside Parish, North Branch, which form the Northern Lapeer County Family of Parishes.
Fr. Charles Nwamadi, SSJ, with the concurrence of his superior, Most Reverend John H. Ricard, SSJ, appointed full-time priest support to Our Lady Queen of Heaven–Good Shepherd Parish, Detroit; and St. Raymond - Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Detroit, which form the Trinity Family of Parishes of Northeast Detroit, effective July 1, 2025. Fr. Nwamadi was recently ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 2025.
