Bro. Thomas Kroll, OFM Cap.

25-KrollBro. Thomas Kroll, OFM Cap., 73, a native of Detroit, died in Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was invested with the Capuchin habit in 1967 and perpetually professed in 1972. He served in a variety of ministries, and he was especially proud of the time he served Montana among the Native Americans there. He ministered in Detroit for 28 years and devoted himself to helping people who were living on the streets and suffering from addictions.

In the spirit of St. Francis, he loved creation and was an avid gardener as well as an animal-lover. He is survived by the friars of the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph, with whom he lived, prayed and ministered. Bro. Kroll was preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Lottie, and sister Marlene Denny.

Funeral rites were held at St. Bonaventure Monastery Chapel, Detroit, on Nov. 6. Burial is in the St. Bonaventure Monastery Cemetery.
