Deacon Charles Skubick

A faithful servant of our Lord, Deacon Charles Skubick, went home Nov. 3. His family is sure he was greeted at the gates of heaven by his love of 64 years, Marion. Deacon Skubick leaves behind four daughters, one son, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His oldest daughter, Mary, predeceased him earlier in 2012.

He served his country in World War II in the European theater, and married his sweetheart, Marion, in 1947. In 1982, he was ordained a deacon, serving at Sacred Heart of the Hills, Auburn Hills, for five years, and St. Andrew, Rochester, for 17 years. As a team, Charlie and Marion volunteered in the Oakland County Jail Ministry, bringing the love and mercy of our Lord to the hurting souls there. They also helped establish a prison ministry in Nevada while on yearly visits to one of their daughters. Charley was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
