ROYAL OAK — Hundreds of women attended the 13th Hispanic Women's Conference on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak.

Dr. Dora Tobar, director of the Pastoral Office for Family Life and Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Lafayette, Ind., spoke about the "grace of being a loved woman" during the conference, which also included a holy hour with Eucharistic adoration and Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Arturo Cepeda.

Tobar, who is originally from Colombia, is one of the first female theologians from Latin America and earned her doctorate from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome in 1997.
