John Joseph ‘Jack’ Ankoviak Jr. , 75, passed away in his home in Romeo on June 11. Jack was born in Detroit to his parents, Laura and John J. Ankoviak Sr., and baptized at St. Catherine, Detroit. He graduated from St. Bernard High School. He was a faithful altar server throughout elementary and high school. After graduation, Jack served in the United States Army. His career as a pressman for The Detroit News spanned 39 years.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marietta, their sons: Kevin, of California, Scott of Romeo, and daughter, Cheryl of Romeo. He is also survived by his brother: George James (Dorothy) of Florida and sisters: Patricia (William) Jenuwine of Marine City and Sr. Mary Ann Ankoviak, CSJ, of Algonac.
Jack’s funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Clement of Rome Parish in Romeo on June 22.
