Detroit — As has been our custom for many years, The Michigan Catholic is publishing this special edition to coincide with National Vocation Awareness Week, Nov. 1-7, a week set aside by the U.S. bishops to pray for increased vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life.

During this week, The Michigan Catholic especially urges our readers to pray by name for those seminarians studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Detroit at Sacred Heart Major Seminary and elsewhere. We also ask our readers in a special way to pray for all those men and women discerning a vocation to the religious life during this Year of Consecrated Life, as well as those with a vocation to family life.

There are 35 local men currently discerning the priesthood, including five who are set to be ordained this coming spring. Please join us in praying for:
