May They Rest in Peace: Deacon Anthony Lewandoski

Deacon Anthony Lewandoski passed on from this life on Sept. 16, 2019 at the age of 85.

Deacon Lewandoski was born on Nov. 17, 1933, and ordained a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Detroit on April 25, 1976. He served as a permanent deacon at St. Mary Queen of Creation Parish in New Baltimore.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, 50931 Maria St., New Baltimore.

Deacon Lewandoski served in the U.S. Navy, as a member of the V.F.W. Post 7573 and a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Visitation will take place at Gendernalik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore, Michigan, 48047 on Sept. 19 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m, and September 20 from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. with a Scripture Service beginning at 7 p.m.

Deacon Anthony Lewandoski will lie in state on September 21 at St. Mary Queen of Creation Parish, 50931 Maria St., New Baltimore, Michigan, 48047 at 9:30 a.m. until the celebration of his funeral Mass at 10am.

Deacon Lewandoski was the beloved husband of the late Alice. Dear father of Anthony (Sue), Richard (Connie), Josephine (Jerry) Plodzik, Naomi (Scott) Dunning, the late David and the late John. Loving grandfather of nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Esther (Bob) Lasko, Fran (Leroy) Holland, Connie Kirby and Michelle Couture. Predeceased by his granddaughter Ashley.
