May They Rest in Peace: Fr. Michael L. Cremin, SAC

Fr. Michael L. Cremin, SAC, a member of the Irish Pallottine Fathers and pastor of St. Vincent Pallotti Parish in Wyandotte, died Sept. 18 at the age of 61.

Born on May 24, 1958 in Cork, Ireland, he was the second son of his late beloved parents, John Joe and Josephine (Josie) and had two brothers, Tony and Kieran who also predeceased him. He is sadly missed by his loving Pallottine Community, his family, sister-in-law Linda, nephew Conor, niece Christina, his uncle Fr. Michael Cremin, O.Carm, many cousins and their families, by his much loved parishioners and by a wide circle of friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m Monday, Sept. 23, at St. Joseph Church, 344 Elm St., Wyandotte.

Fr. Cremin entered the Pallottine community in September 1976, made his first consecration with the Pallottines on May 31, 1979, and was ordained June 11, 1983. He arrived in the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2004 and served as pastor of St. Joseph Parish, St. Patrick Parish and St. Elizabeth Parish, all in Wyandotte, before they merged to form St. Vincent Pallotti Parish. 

Fr. Cremin has made his home in Wyandotte as pastor of St. Vincent Pallotti Parish. He is well known in the community as the “little Irish Leprechaun priest.” There wasn’t a day that you would go by that whenever he was out, someone would know him and come to talk to him. He was so kind and gracious to everyone. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

Fr. Cremin will lie in repose from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at St. Patrick Church, 135 Superior Blvd., Wyandotte, with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at St. Joseph Church, 344 Elm St., Wyandotte, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
