Because of failing health she retired to Fontbonne Manor at Nazareth in 2001, using her time and various talents to minister to her sisters.

Sister Evelyn was a woman of great faith. She possessed a pleasant personality and was most generous in offering her services to others. Sister Evelyn enjoyed many hobbies and spent numerous hours painting rooms in Fontbonne Manor. She also used her computer skills to introduce the sisters to the latest technology. May Sister Evelyn now be welcomed into the presence of God where she will enjoy eternal rest and peace.
