Sr. Anne Herringer, OP, formerly Sr. Mary Pius Herringer, died Oct. 27. She was 98 and in the 70th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sr. Herringer was born in Arthur, Ontario, to George and Bridget (O’Neill) Herringer. She graduated from Arthur High School there and received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian. She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Guelph, Ontario, and was certified a registered nurse in Ontario, California and Michigan.

She spent 41 years in nursing and nursing administration in Santa Cruz, Calif., except for serving as administrator of Maria Health Care Center (Dominican Life Center) in Adrian from 1970-73.

Sr. Herringer is survived by a sister, Mrs. Peggy O’Donnell of Cambridge, Ontario, and loving nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 30 in St. Catherine Chapel. Burial is in the congregation cemetery.
