Sr. Lois Logan, IHM, 82, died Feb. 21 at the IHM Sisters’ Motherhouse in Monroe.
She was one of three children of Earl and Barbara Lewis Logan, born on May 24, 1928, in Baltimore and given the name Mary Lois. She became a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1957, taking the religious name of Sr. Peter Canisius.
Sr. Logan served in the US Navy 1949-1953. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Marygrove and her master’s degree from Wayne State University. She taught in formal education for 20 years at St. Charles, Newport; St. Charles, Holy Redeemer and St. Vincent, Detroit; Marian High School, Bloomfield Hills; St Mary Academy, Monroe; Gabriel Richard High School, Riverview; and St. Hugo, Bloomfield Hills.
She also ministered in Missouri, California and Illinois.
In 2003 she retired to the IHM Motherhouse.
Sr. Logan is survived by her sister, Vilma; brother, Ronald; and nephews.
