Sr. Louise (Mary Alexander) Borgacz, OP

SrSr. Louise Borgacz, OP, died Nov. 2 at St. Joseph Hospital in Ypsilanti. She was 80, and in the 60th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sr. Borgacz was born in Detroit to Alexander and Marion (Janeczko) Borgacz. She graduated from New Haven High School and received a bachelor’s degree in secretarial science from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian, and a master’s in business education from the University of Detroit.

Sr. Borgacz spent 20 years ministering in education in Michigan, Illinois and California, including Adrian Catholic Central, Adrian (1966-67); St. Martin de Porres, Detroit (1967-69); Servite High School, Detroit (1979-81); and as business manager of Mercy High School, Farmington Hills (1981-87).

Sr. Borgacz was also an assistant to the secretary of the congregation in Adrian (1998-2002).

She is survived by a brother, David Borgacz of Warren; and two sisters, Rosemary Ancona of St. Clair Shores and Barbara Felczak of Roseville.

Mass of Christian Burial was Nov. 6 in St. Catherine Chapel. Burial is in the congregation cemetery.
