Sr. Mary Eileen Sullivan, OP, formerly known as Sr. Eileen Paul Sullivan, died Dec. 22 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 70 and in the 51st year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.
Sr. Sullivan was born in Rockford, Ill., to William and Berneita (Murphy) Sullivan. She graduated from Bishop Muldoon High School in Rockford, Ill., and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Master of Education degree in administration, both from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian.
Sr. Sullivan spent 48 years ministering in education in Detroit and Harper Woods, as well as Cincinnati and Toledo, Ohio; Rockford, Ill., and West Palm Beach and Boca Raton, Fla. In Michigan, Sr. Sullivan taught at Holy Name School in Detroit (1963-64) and St. Peter School in Harper Woods (1964-68).
Sr. Sullivan became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in Adrian in 2013.
Sister Mary Eileen is survived by loving nieces and nephews.
