Sr. Mary Jean Rogoszewski, CSSF, born in Saginaw on Sept. 30, 1930, entered eternal life Feb. 18. She was 85 and a Felician for 67 years.

Joan Rogoszewski was the seventh of 13 children born to John and Agnes (Wiacek). She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School in Saginaw, was accepted into Felician Academy in Detroit, and entered the Felician Congregation on June 26, 1948. She received the name Sr. Mary Pia, later changed to Jean, the following year. First profession of vows was in 1950 and final profession on Aug. 12, 1956.

Sr. Rogoszewski earned her degree from Madonna University in Livonia.

She served in education at Corpus Christi, St. Andrew, Resurrection, St. Stephen, Patronage of St. Joseph, and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – all in Detroit; St. Stanislaus, Jackson and St. Stanislaus, Bay City. From 1962-71, Sr. Rogoszewski was assigned to St. Joseph Home for Boys in Jackson. She later served in the bookstore and library at Madonna University.

Sr. Rogoszewski is survived by two brothers, Bernard and Thomas, and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mass of Resurrection was celebrated Feb. 24 in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel of the Felician Sisters’ Central Convent in Livonia. Burial is in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
