Sr. Patricia McGrath, OP, formerly known as Sr. Ann Maureen McGrath, died at the Dominican Life Center, Adrian on Aug. 29. She was 90 and in the 73rd year in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.
Born in Royal Oak to John and Genevieve (Kuntz) McGrath, she graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Adrian and earned a degree in history from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian.
Sr. McGrath spent 34 years ministering in education in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Florida. In the Archdiocese of Detroit, she taught at St. Joseph, Port Huron (1943-44); St. Mary, Rockwood (1947-50); Presentation, Detroit (1959-61); St. Joseph, Wyandotte (1961-62); and St. Mary, Royal Oak (1970-73). For 14 years, Sr. McGrath was manager of the Drapery Department at the Motherhouse in Adrian (1979-93).
A funeral Mass was to be celebrated in St. Catherine Chapel in Adrian on Sept. 2. Rite of Committal will be in the Congregation cemetery.
