Sr. Theresina Ross, SC, formerly Josephine Marie Ross, died May 12 at Mother Margaret Hall, the nursing facility of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. She was 96.
Born on July 12, 1914 in Springfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Michael and Theresa (Fraterally) Ross.
A Sister of Charity for 76 years, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the Athenaeum of Ohio, Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Arts in education from the College of Mount St. Joseph, Cincinnati. Sr. Ross ministered in education for nearly 60 years in Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee; including six years (1938-44) at St. Luke, Detroit.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Anthony, Albert and Gerald, and her sister, Mary Ross. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated May 18 in the in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati in Delhi Township. Burial was in the congregation’s cemetery.
