'When there is suffering, we respond' – How the Church in Detroit is coming to the aid of Ukrainians (VIDEO)

DETROIT ─ When war broke out in Ukraine, the whole Body of Christ suffered and Detroit Catholics knew they had to respond.

Parishioners from the Renaissance Vicariate Family of Parishes No. 1 (Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Our Lady of the Rosary, St. Aloysius, and Old St. Mary’s, Greektown) organized quickly to donate, gather, and send essential items to Ukrainians affected by the war. Meanwhile, St. Clare of Montefalco gathered a group of parishioners together to assist with humanitarian efforts at the border of Ukraine.

Convicted by the love of Jesus and in spite of the geographical distance, these Detroit Catholics refuse to be bystanders in light of the suffering of their Ukrainian brothers and sisters.
