On Wednesday, Sept. 30, Archbishop Weisenburger participated in the Catholic Climate Covenant's synodal listening session, “Cry of the Earth, Cry of the Poor,” at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. The listening session included students, laity and priests from across the Archdiocese of Detroit in prayerful discernment about how the Church can better implement Catholic social teaching, in particular from Pope Francis' 2015 encyclical Laudato Si’, into everyday Catholic life. The Catholic Climate Covenant is organizing a series of listening sessions as it works to compile a report for the North American region to be sent to Rome in response to the global Synod of Synodality.
