Detroit — This spring, the Madison Heights Bishop Foley baseball team made history in Michigan high school athletics, and Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice lacrosse continued to rewrite its own historic saga.

The Ventures, by easily defeating Grandville Calvin Christian, 12-5, for its third consecutive Division 3 title, became the first school in any division in the state to win three championships in a row.

The Warriors continued to dominate boys lacrosse with its ninth Division 1 crown in a row — and maintained its undefeated streak of 130 wins over state opponents dating back to 2005.

The Catholic High School League was well-represented in state tournament action during the 2012-13 academic year. Here are the champions:

Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice — Division 2 football (2 years in a row), Division 1 lacrosse (9 years in a row);

Bloomfield Hills Marian — Division 2 girls tennis;
