During the month of October, also known as Respect Life Month, the Archdiocese of Detroit sponsored a student art and writing contest.

Hundreds of students enrolled in Catholic schoolsand religious education programs across the Archdiocese of Detrit submitted essays, poems and pictures centering on the theme "Life is a Gift."

The contest winners have been invited to the Life is a Gift Conference on January 22, 2011 at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit.
