The concert, “Unite Disciples of Christ,” is sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, and Spiritus Sanctus Academy in Ann Arbor, and will bring together musicians of various styles and denominations, including popular Catholic recording artist Matt Maher, Christian rock group Sanctus Real, as well as Amy Grant, Ike Ndolo and John Guerra.

“The purpose of presenting this concert is to provide an evening of entertainment for the entire family and for Christians of all denominations,” said Sr. John Dominic Rasmussen, OP, principal of Spiritus Sanctus Academy and a member of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, in a news release. “Praise and worship music is a language we all speak and unites us as believers. We wanted artists that would appeal to every generation and are very happy to have them be a part of this special event.”
Maher, who also released a new album, “Saints and Sinners,” on March 17, also issued a personal invitation via the concert’s website, www.uniteconcert.com, saying the event would be a “really fantastic evening of music” for Christians across denominations.
Doors open at 4 p.m., with shows starting at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $12-40 and can be purchased via the concert’s website. Free parking is available. As of March 26, organizers said nearly 2,000 tickets had been sold for the concert, with a goal of nearly 2,000 more.
A portion of net proceeds will be donated to local charities, including Guadalupe Partners, Arbor Vitae, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen and HelpIraq.net, which assists persecuted Christian refugees in the Middle East.
