In this homily reflection for Sept. 13, 2026, the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Archbishop Weisenburger recalls the moment that St. John Paul II called his would-be assassin “a brother whom I have pardoned.” It was an extraordinary act of mercy that powerfully reflects this week's Gospel on forgiveness. May we always follow that same path of mercy over resentment and forgiveness over revenge.
