Detroit — Bro. Marcel Sylvestre, FIC, will speak about his current work in Haiti when he returns for the Detroit Cathedral High School all-class reunion on April 22.
The 3 p.m. reunion will be in what used to be the high school’s gymnasium, at the east end of the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament parking lot.
Bro. Sylvestre was still known by his religious name of Bro. Ignatius when he was principal of the former all-boys high school that stood on Belmont Street between the gym and the cathedral.
He was one of the Brothers of Christian Instruction who ran the school from the mid-1950s through the early 1960s.
Bro. Jerome Lessard, FIC, a former teacher and now the brothers’ American provincial, will speak about their work in this country.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the brothers’ work inHaiti. For more information, contact Norm Brault at (248) 398-1737 or [email protected]. Blessed Sacrament Cathedral is at 9844 Woodward, Detroit.
