Father Ronald Williams passed on from this life on Tuesday, July 6, at the age of 58.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 14 at Pye Funeral Home, 17600 Plymouth Rd. (1 block east of the Southfield Freeway), Detroit, (313-838-9770), from noon to 8 p.m., with a prayer service from 5 to 7 p.m. He will lie in state on Thursday, July 15, from 9 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Scholastica Parish, Detroit.

Ordained a priest on April 7, 1979, Father Williams’ assignments included: associate pastor of St. Mary’s of Redford Parish, Detroit; Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Harper Woods; and Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Detroit. He was pastor of St. Juliana-St. John Berchmans Parish, Detroit; and St. Mary’s of Redford Parish, Detroit. He also served as administrator of St. Benedict the Moor Parish.

Father Williams was removed from active ministry according to the norms of the Dallas Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.
