In Brief: Old St. Mary’s pastor blesses new Monroe Street streetscape

DETROIT ─ Fr. John Maksym, pastor of Old St. Mary’s Parish in Detroit’s Greektown Neighborhood, joined Protestant and Greek Orthodox pastors and Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield in blessing the new Monroe Street streetscape on Oct. 15.

Under the new plan, Monroe Street, which goes by Old St. Mary Parish, will be a pedestrian-only road through the thriving restaurant and entertainment district.
