Bloomfield Hills – “Awesome!”

That was the sum and substance of Coach Kris Sanders’ analysis of her Ladywood Blazers’ 2-1 victory last Saturday over Bloomfield Hills Marian for the CHSL Girls Field Hockey Championship.

The loss snapped Marian’s string of four consecutive CHSL championships.

Erin Cronym and Molly MacLennan scored for Ladywood on the carpeted Ambrose Field behind Brother Rice High School.

Anna Reinhart found the back of the net for Marian with just 1:17 left to play.

To reach the finals, Ladywood blanked Bloomfield Hills Sacred Heart Academy, 4-0, in one semi-final match. Kylie Birney scored twice, and Lauren Kozlowski and Cronym had one goal apiece.

Reinhart also scored for Marian in a 1-0 victory over Farmington Hills Mercy in the other semi-final game.
