May They Rest in Peace: Sr. Carol Ann Dulka, OP

Sr. Carol Ann Dulka, OP, formerly known as Sr. Mary Teresina, died on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian. She was 77 years of age and in the 59th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.

Sister Carol Ann was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Anthony and Emeline (Horney) Dulka. She graduated from Hoban Dominican High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian. She was also certified as a Nurse Aide and a catechetical teacher.

Ritual of Remembering will be held on Feb. 11, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the Rose Room.
Sr. Carol Ann Dulka, OP

Sister spent 14 years ministering in elementary education in Southgate, Alpena and Belding, Michigan, and 31 years in pastoral ministry in Charleston, Ridgeville, and Edisto Island in South Carolina. She became a resident of Weber Center in Adrian in 2010, and served four years as a driver in the transportation office and two years as a mailroom assistant for the Adrian Dominican Sisters. 

Sister was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Richard and Dr. Joseph Dulka.  She is survived by a brother, William (Deanna) Dulka of Falls Church, Virginia; sisters Mary Ann (Conrad Brown) Hammons of Seattle, Washington, and Sister Patricia Dulka, also an Adrian Dominican Sister; loving nieces and nephews and her Adrian Dominican Sisters.

Due to COVID-19 mitigation protocols, the Dominican Life Center is closed until further notice to all guests or visitors. All are welcome to participate in Sister’s wake and funeral via live stream at http://www.adriandominicans.org/LiveStream.aspx 

Rite of Committal (burial) for Sister Carol Ann will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m.in the Congregation Cemetery.  A Memorial Word Service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Catherine Chapel, and the Ritual of Remembering will be held on February 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Rose Room.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
