Two SOLT seminarians ordained
Detroit — Two members of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) who completed their studies at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit were ordained priests May 31 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Fr. Tristan Abbott and Fr. Michael Slovak were ordained for the order and will serve at parishes in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; and Corpus Christi, Texas, respectively. Fr. Abbott becomes the second native of the Cayman Islands to be ordained a priest, following Fr. Joseph Kirkconnell, who was ordained for the Archdiocese of Detroit there on May 24.
Registration open for CYO camps
Detroit — Summer camps for boys and girls ages 7-16 are open for registration through the Catholic Youth Organization. The camps, which take place each year along Lake Huron near Port Sanilac in Michigan’s Thumb, include archery, a high-ropes course, various arts projects, kayaking, campouts, open-air cabins and more. ‘Holiness revolution’ coming to Plymouth
Plymouth — John Wood, a speaker with the Dynamic Catholic Institute, will present a one-day retreat July 19 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Plymouth. The retreat, titled “Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary Mission: Five Steps to Winning the War Within,” will explore how to “bring purpose into your everyday life” and join a “holiness revolution” through the promises of Jesus Christ.
