Raymond Joseph Weingartz died Feb. 23 at the age of 78.
He was a man who lived his life in a way that always had this day in mind, in the best way possible. His priorities were clear — God first, his family, his business, and everyone it serves, and lastly, himself.
Beloved husband of Marie for 57 years. Loving father of Catherine (Edward) Radtke, Beverly DeVriendt, Ronald (Margaret), Angela (Donald) Malburg, Thomas (Debra), Daniel (Kristine), and Kenneth (Amy) Weingartz. Loving son of the late Raymond and Florence Weingartz, who were founders of Weingartz Supply Company in Utica. Proud grandfather of 29, great-grandfather of eight and predeceased by two grandchildren. Dearest brother of Doris (Clement) Kraemer, Janet (Francis) Finn, Donald (Patricia), Ann, and the late Elmer and Arlene.
He was a member of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Legatus, Cardinal Club, Kiwanis, and 42 years at St. Isidore Parish in Macomb. He served on the board or as president of Holy Cross Services, Austin Catholic High School, SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary, Sacred Heart Major Seminary, North American Equipment Dealers Association, Ohio-Michigan Equipment Dealers Association, and the Utica Downtown Development Authority.
