Roseann O'KeefeRoseann O’Keefe, who lived a life of service to three different parishes across 50 years, died Feb. 7 at the age of 69 after a valiant yearlong struggle with lung cancer.
O’Keefe served in many volunteer roles at St. Leonard of Port Maurice, St. Malachy and St. Athanasius — all east side parishes. Her volunteer roles included youth sports activities, fish fries and other fundraising roles, serving as an MCREST volunteer for many years, teaching religious education, and helping with art and environment. She served as president of the St. Malachy Women’s Club, and as co-chairperson of the St. Athanasius Fun Fair for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Deacon Mike O’Keefe; three children, Brian, Keri and Mike; and seven granddaughters. She also worked for the same employer, Electrical Power Products, for more than 41 years.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 12 at St. Margaret of Scotland Parish in St. Clair Shores. She is buried at Great Lakes Cemetery.
