
She attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s parish school in Wyandotte from kindergarten through 12th grade along with her five sisters and brother: the late Marie Dexter, Geraldine Zasadny, Janiene Talbert, Margaret Donnelly, Elizabeth Decker and Raymond, brother of late memory.
Annette was accepted into the Felician Congregation on Aug. 15, 1955. In 1956 she received the name Sr. Mary Emille, later changed to Annette Marie. First vows were pronounced in 1957 and final profession in 1963.
Sr. Myrand earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Madonna University, and a Master of Arts degree from Wayne State University. During her 58 years of ministry, Sr. Myrand’s apostolic journey took many paths that spanned Michigan, Indiana and Ohio: St. Christine, Patronage of St. Joseph and St. Andrew in Detroit; St. Leonard, Warren; St. Dunstan, Garden City; Holy Family, South Bend, Ind.; St. Adalbert, Toledo, Ohio; St. Genevieve, Livonia; St. Joseph, Jackson; and St. Joseph, Manistee.
She provided further leadership as principal for 30 years at the following schools: St. Anne in Monroe, (1970-73), St. Michael (1973-76) and St. Edith (1978-84) in Livonia; St. Florian, Hamtramck (1985-93); St. Thecla, Clinton Township (1993-99). She also was principal at St. Stanislaus, Bay City (1999-2003).
From 2005-07, Sr. Myrand was director of religious education at St. Stephen, New Boston. She retired to St. Joseph Care Center in 2007.
The Mass of Resurrection was celebrated March 20 by Fr. Bruce Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., and Fr. James Scheick. Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
