Sr. Rose Huelsman, IHM, 80, died Sept. 30 at Saint Luke’s Home Care and Hospice of Kansas City, Mo.
Sr. Huelsman was born on March 30, 1934, one of three children born to Richard and Marion (Boltz) Huelsman in Cincinnati. She studied at John Carroll University, Cleveland, and graduated from Marygrove College, Detroit, with a bachelor’s in social studies. She later earned master’s degrees in education and theological studies.
She entered the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Monroe in 1956. She taught at Marian High School, Bloomfield Hills, and Immaculata High School, Detroit, before moving to other assignments in Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Missouri.
Sr. Huelsman was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Huelsman of Tucson, Ariz., and Fr. Richard Huelsman, SJ, of Columbus, Ohio.
Mass of Resurrection was Oct. 11 at the IHM Motherhouse Chapel in Monroe. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery on the Motherhouse Campus.
