BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP — On Saturday, Oct. 25, more than 400 community members gathered at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown Township to celebrate Día de los Muertos, a beautiful day of prayer, remembrance, and cultural tradition.

Families honored their loved ones through music, dance, and the ofrenda, a vibrant altar adorned with photos and keepsakes symbolizing the unity of the Church on earth, in purgatory, and in heaven. A special Mass and moments of quiet prayer offered space to reflect on God’s mercy and the hope of eternal life in Christ.

The sixth annual Dia de los Muertos celebration was hosted by Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services, which operates Catholic cemeteries in the Archdiocese of Detroit and provides memorial, burial and end-of-life services to families of all faiths and backgrounds.
