DETROIT — Finalists for the Life is a Gift student contest have been chosen in advance of the January pro-life conference to be held at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
Students in grades 4-12 were asked to submit art, writing, music and video entries treating this year’s theme, “Courage to Defend Life.” Finalists were chosen in two divisions for all four categories. The first division consists of grades 4-8, and the second division is for grades 9-12.
Parishioners are invited to view and vote on the winners in each category at www.aod.org/lifeisagift. One vote will be accepted per email address per day until voting ends Dec. 28.
Winners will be announced after voting ends, and the winning presentations will be on display at the Jan. 26 conference. Registration for the annual conference, which will feature talks by Archbishop Allen Vigneron, Catholic schools interim superintendent Kimberly Young, Franciscan Friar Fr. Alex Kratz and renown Catholic speaker Dr. Peter Kreeft, is ongoing at www.aod.org/lifeisagift. Cost is $40 and includes the all-day program and lunch.
