Young adults grow closer to God through nature during Up North pilgrimage (PHOTOS)

CHEBOYGAN Seventy young adults took part in the 2023 Michigan Young Adult Hiking and Rafting Pilgrimage at Cheboygan State Park and the National Shrine of the Cross in the Woods in Indian River from July 21-23.

The retreat was led by Fr. Adam Maher, rector of the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw, and Gaylord Bishop Jeffrey Walsh also accompanied the pilgrims.

The retreat was a chance to disconnect from the comforts of the world and reconnect with God’s presence and the shalom ("peace") Christ brings. Read the full story.
