On Sunday, Sept. 20, Archbishop Weisenburger joined the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums for an international gathering hosted in the Archdiocese of Detroit at St. John's Resort in Plymouth. John and Kristan Hale, chapter leaders of the Michigan chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, hosted the event, which was attended by representatives from different countries, including a special visit from Sr. Raffaella Petrini, FSE, president of the Pontifical Commission and Governate of Vatican City State. The event included Mass at St. John's Resort, followed by a brunch.

Archbishop Weisenburger is pictured with Johan Van Parys, Ph.D., one of his classmates from the archbishop's studies in Belgium. Today, Dr. Van Parys is an internationally acclaimed liturgist and currently serves as director of liturgical ministries for the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis.
Archbishop Weisenburger greets a couple came from Belgium during the event. In his earlier years, Archbishop Weisenburger studied in Belgium from 1983 to 1987, and quickly found common topics of conversation.
