Archdiocese of Detroit clergy appointments: June 21, 2021 

Due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions from India, the previously announced assignment of Fr. Kishore Beezam, S.A.C. as family-parochial vicar of the Northeast Blue Water Vicariate Family 1, consisting of Holy Family Parish, Memphis; St. Augustine Parish, Richmond; and St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, Armada, which was to be effective July 1, 2021, has been temporarily delayed until he is able to travel to the United States. Therefore, Archbishop Vigneron announces the following temporary assignments:

Fr. Steven Mateja is appointed temporary family-parochial vicar of the Northeast Blue Water Vicariate Family 1, consisting of Holy Family Parish, Memphis; St. Augustine Parish, Richmond; and St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, Armada, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Mateja is currently serving as parochial vicar at St. Francis of Assisi-St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, Ray Township and St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, Armada.

Fr. Paul Onyebuchi, with the concurrence of his bishop, Most Reverend Peter Ebere Okpaleke of the Diocese of Ekwulobia, is appointed temporary parochial vicar of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Lake Orion, and St. John Fisher Chapel University Parish, Auburn Hills, effective July 1, 2021. Fr. Onyebuchi is currently serving as parochial vicar at St. Andre Bessette Parish, Ecorse, SS. Andrew and Benedict Parish, Detroit and St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Melvindale.
