DETROIT — Catholics joined in a Eucharistic procession through the streets of Detroit on Saturday, June 19, in honor of Father’s Day.
The 1.6-mile procession began at St. Aloysius Parish on Washington Boulevard before heading to Old St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greektown, and finishing at St. Joseph Shrine in Eastern Market. The procession also honored St. Joseph, patron of fathers, during the Year of St. Joseph.
The event was organized by Unite Our Nation, a movement dedicated to advancing unity and healing through Eucharistic devotion, and sponsored by Hard as Nails ministry and the Catholic Men’s Leadership Alliance.
