DETROIT — A group of young people with a devotion to St. Pier Giorgio Frassati met Sept. 7 to celebrate the canonization of their namesake at Most Holy Redeemer Parish in southwest Detroit.

The Frassati Group (Grupo Frassati) attended the 10 a.m. Mass together on the same morning Pope Leo XIV declared St. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Carlo Acutis the Church's newest saints.

Grupo Frassati, a group of young adults ages 18-35, started meeting in January every Wednesday at 7 p.m., in the basement of Holy Redeemer Church. The group has not missed a Wednesday since.
