Deacon Michael Somervell passed on from this life on May 15, 2025, at the age of 79. Deacon Somervell is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, three children, and two grandchildren.
Deacon Somervell was born May 18, 1945, and was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on Oct. 1, 2005.
Deacon Somervell served his first assignment at St. William Parish in Walled Lake from the time of his ordination until 2010, followed by his final assignment at Church of the Holy Spirit in Highland.
Deacon Somervell's visitation will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 3-7 p.m. at O’Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave., Novi, MI 48375, with a Rosary taking place at 6 p.m.
Deacon Somervell’s funeral Mass will take place on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Church of the Holy Spirit, 3700 Harvey Lake Rd., Highland, MI 48356. In state will begin at 10 a.m.
