On Wednesday, Oct. 21, Archbishop Weisenburger hosted a birthday celebration for Archbishop-emeritus Allen H. Vigneron, 78, at the episcopal residence. Joining the two archbishops was Cardinal Peter Ebere Okpaleke of the Diocese of Ekwulobia, Nigeria, who is currently visiting Detroit; Cardinal Okpaleke's secretary, Fr. Lawrence Nwankwo; Fr. Timothy Birney, vicar general and moderator of the curia for the Archdiocese of Detroit; Fr. Mario Amore, director of parish renewal and director of seminarians for the archdiocese; and Fr. Adam Nowak, Archbishop Weisenburger's priest-secretary and the archdiocese's vice chancellor.
