TROY — People of all ages knelt together in quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament at Christ Our Light Parish in Troy, the evening of Sunday, Oct. 25.

The two-hour "Come, Encounter Christ" event for youths and families, held each year, brought together faithful from across the Archdiocese of Detroit in prayerful adoration, offering a peaceful opportunity to set aside the noise and concerns of daily life and spend some time with Jesus.

Newly ordained Fr. Lizandro Barba led a reflection, followed by a time of praise and worship and a Eucharistic procession around the church. As the procession and praise took place, a line wrapped around the sanctuary as people waited their turn for confession.
